Wayne (Leader)

Pre-Camp (25 May, Monday)

What sounds interesting about this project?

- The fact that we are going to scan with electrons.
- We are gonna do something with electrons.
- I would like to see the detail can the microscope see.

What do you think you can learn from this project?
- I think we can learn how to work with different people and not the same people all the time.
- I think that we can also learn to with different type of equipments during this project.
- I think we can learn theories that not how in our textbook.

Any immediate questions regarding the project?
- How are we gonna scan the objects with electrons?
- How can this skill be applied in real life.
- How is the microscope able to project such details?
- How are the electrons being charged?

First Day (26 May, Tuesday)

What did you do today?
- Tensile Test.
- Composite Material.

Briefly describe your day’s activities
- We did the test on the three different material; AL, PP, PS
- We use carbon fibre and glass fibre to make composite materiel.

What did you learn today?
- I learn that different materials has different properties.
- I learn that using composite material it can help in life.

Discuss any learning points from today’s activities
- The atom or molecules in the three different material.
- How composite materials are made.

How do you feel about today’s activities?
- I feel interested in this programme.
- I feel that the students mentors are awesome

Describe how the project has affected your understanding of the discipline and how it may be applied elsewhere
- This tensile test can be used for building bridges.

Share your insights for the day
- Material Science can shape the future.

Second Day (27 May, Wednesday)

What did you do today?
- We used the SEM.
- We did presentation.

Briefly describe your day’s activities
- We use the SEM to look at different specimens.
- We had time to work on our presentation and presented during the project sharing.

What did you learn today?
- I learn how to use the SEM.
- I learn to work together as a group.

Discuss any learning points from today’s activities

- The SEM has a better magnification.

How do you feel about today’s activities?
- I feel that it is easy to handle the SEM

Describe how the project has affected your understanding of the discipline and how it may be applied elsewhere

- We are able to apply look we see in the SEM into real life .

What new questions do you have regarding the discipline?
- How are we able to do better presentation.

Third Day (28 May, Thursday)
